How Can I Register To Vote?

REQUIREMENTS TO BE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE:

  • You must be a United States citizen and a resident of the county in which you wish to register for 30 days prior to an election.
  • You must be 18 years of age or 17 years old and will be 18 years old on or before the next general election.
  • You may not currently be under conviction, probation or parole for a felony, treason, or election bribery.
  • You may not have been judged mentally incompetent in a court of competent jurisdiction.

*** DEADLINE TO REGISTER TO VOTE OR CHANGE PARTY AFFILIATION IS 21 DAYS PRIOR TO EACH ELECTION.

WHERE CAN I REGISTER TO VOTE?

  • You may register to vote in person at the Voter Registration office at the Cabell County Courthouse, 750 5th Avenue, Room 104, Huntington, WV  25701.  Please bring I.D. with current address and date of birth.  (Acceptable forms of I.D.)
  • Division of Motor Vehicles
  • Public Assistance Agencies
  • Agencies that serve people with disabilities
  • You may also register to vote by printing the Voter Registration Application, completing, and mailing to Cabell County Clerk, 750 5th Avenue, Suite 108, Huntington, WV  25701.
  • You may contact the Voter Registration office at 304-526-8633 and request a form be mailed to you.
  • You may Register online with the Secretary of States Office.
